Antique 1900s black & gold lace & sequin Edwardian dress
Antique 1900s black & gold lace & sequin Edwardian dress
The dress, dating to around mid 1900s, consists of a separate bodice and skirt.
It's made of delicate black silk satin and ivory silk chiffon, a colour combination very popular in the period. The design features fine black lace and black and gold gel sequin embellishment, forming a swirl design.
The skirt has an in-sewn separate silk lining, which gives it a beautiful dramatic drape and volume.
Both fasten with hooks and eyes at the back. The bodice features original boning and a pigeon-breast shaped front, that accentuates the bust and makes the waist look smaller.
Very good condition given the age, with small signs of wear and damage.
